Paris Saint-Germain are looking to extend Bradley Barcola’s (22) current deal, which expires in the summer of 2028, however, the Frenchman is hesitant, L’Équipe understands.

Barcola has built on a strong finish to his debut season at PSG to become a key member of the attack. The France international had an excellent start to the campaign before a dip in the autumn, however, he still has 34 goal contributions (18 goals, 16 assists) in 47 appearances in all competitions this season.

A consistent performer and one of the most promising prospects in this young PSG side, the club’s hierarchy have been engaged in talks to extend his deal. However, Barcola wants to wait until the end of the season before making a decision.

The Frenchman has not understood some of Les Parisiens’ recruitment choices, notably the decision to recruit Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in January. The Georgian plays in the same position as Barcola.

There could yet be further recruitment in this sector of the pitch. Whilst PSG failed in their attempts to sign Mohamed Salah, there is a long-standing interest in AS Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche that looks set to be re-ignited this summer. Barcola therefore wants to wait until the end of the season, when he will know more about the level of competition in the attacking position, before renewing contract extension talks.
