Jonathan Tah has become a hot topic in Barcelona circles lately, with many sources pointing towards the defender’s potential move to Camp Nou next summer.

Tah’s current contract at Bayer Leverkusen expires at the end of the season. He could, therefore, join the Catalans on a free transfer.

The coming days, to that end, should reveal more about Tah’s future, especially with the January transfer window just around the corner.

The German will be eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement in January. Although reports predominantly suggest a move to Barcelona, with a five-year contract, Tah, for his part, has yet to make a final decision.

According to Diario SPORT, there is growing pressure on Tah to make a final decision on his future. The final verdict, therefore, could be imminent.

Keeping that in mind, Tah must inform Barcelona in January as to whether or not he is willing to accept their five-year offer.

Barça, for their part, are ready to build their defence around Tah and young Pau Cubarsi, especially with Inigo Martinez currently in the final phase of his career.

In fact, Barcelona are even willing to delay the Ronald Araujo renewal pursuit, should Tah agree to join the club next summer.

Needless to say, the presence of Hansi Flick is expected to play a key role in convincing Tah to join Barça as the duo has worked together in the past for the German national team.

Signing Tah on a free transfer next summer could indeed prove to be a major coup for Barcelona, especially under the current economic circumstances.
