BVB on the lookout for Guirassy-backup | OneFootball

Serhou Guirassy has had a brilliant first season at Dortmund: 23 goal involvements (19G, 4A) in 28 Bundesliga games is a great return. He needed no time to adapt after his switch from Stuttgart.

As great as he has been for Dortmund however, the club was feeling his absence whenever he wasn't available to play - this is supposed to change next season.

According to the “Ruhr Nachrichten”, Dortmund are scouting the market for a young backup striker to Serhou Guirassy. BVB were close to getting in Croatian talent Ante Crnac last summer, but he ultimately decided to join Norwich City instead.

Youssoufa Moukoko, currently out on loan at OGC Nice in France, does not play a part in the future plans of the club: he will most likely leave Dortmund in the summer.

Maximilian Beier is highly appreciated by the BVB officials, but he is not supposed to be a backup for Guirassy - he is being trusted to break through in another role at the club.

Whoever Dortmund do go for in the end, he will be more of a target-man-type striker like Guirassy - and he will have to be content witch few minutes, at least in his first season.
