Teenage sensation Francesco Camarda is set to become Milan’s youngest ever starter in the Serie A three-point era on Saturday afternoon and will beat Gianluigi Donnarumma’s previous record by one single day.
Paulo Fonseca confirmed that Camarda will start up front for Milan against Cagliari in Serie A on Saturday, as Alvaro Morata has been ruled out with a head injury, while Tammy Abraham is ‘not fully fit’.
Camarda already became the youngest player to feature in a Serie A match at the age of 15 years and 260 days just shy of a year ago, and will now set a new record for the youngest ever player to start a Serie A match for Milan in the modern era.
Camarda will be 16 years and 241 days old when he leads the line for the Rossoneri against Cagliari.
The teenager has one Serie A appearance to his name in 2024-25, as he came off the bench for the final few minutes of the 2-0 loss to Napoli in October.
He also made his Champions League bow against Club Brugge, and put the ball in the back of the net against the Belgians, only for his goal to be ruled out for offside.
