Carlo Ancelotti fires Vinicius Junior warning to Saudi Pro League | OneFootball

Carlo Ancelotti has insisted he is not concerned by the prospect of losing Vinicius Junior to world record bid from the Saudi Pro League.

Vinicius has been in the sights of Saudi officials for several months now and their interest in a transfer has increased following Neymar's departure from Al Hilal.

Reports suggest Vinicius could soon be the subject of a bid worth €300m, which would eclipse the current record of €222m set by his countryman's switch from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017.

While there have been claims that Vinicius could consider a departure from Madrid, he reaffirmed his commitment to the club after being named The Best FIFA Men's Player in December, giving Ancelotti the confidence to laugh off the idea of a departure to Saudi Arabia.

Asked if he would understand a move to the Middle East for Vinicius, Ancelotti told the media: "I understand everything in football. I also understood why, for example, Toni Kroos left football; few understood it, but maybe I understood it the same way he did.

"These are individual decisions, but I see [Vinicius] happy, wanting to stay here to win titles with Real Madrid. I think he is thinking of choosing glory."

Privately, Madrid have already made it clear that they will point any suitors to the €1bn release clause in Vinicius' contract, with the winger needing to submit a transfer request if that asking price is to be lowered.
