Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has denied speaking with the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) about a future move.
In the aftermath of Brazil's shock 4-1 defeat to Argentina during the international break, several reports emerged stating the Selecao were considering sacking current boss Dorival Junior and have reached out to long-term target Ancelotti.
It was claimed that Ancelotti showed an interest in the subject but made a point of stressing his commitment to Madrid until at least the end of the season. The Italian coach faced the media on Friday and, unsurprisingly, was quizzed on the speculation, which he firmly brushed off and rejected.
"No," was Ancelotti's response when asked if he had spoken to the CBF. "I had a great time [during the international break] because I went to Italy to see my 'great-grandparents' and I loved it. Fortunately, I haven't read all this stuff.
"My contract is clear, I have nothing to add. I love Brazil, its players and its fans, but I have a contract here with Real Madrid."
Brazilian icon Ronaldo went as far as to claim he had spoken with Ancelotti about taking over the national team after the 2022/23 season but, once again, the Madrid boss bluntly dismissed the suggestion.
"I don't remember speaking to Ronaldo about this," he said.

Ancelotti is under contract with Madrid until 2026 but has faced significant speculation over a possible summer departure, with Bayer Leverkusen's Xabi Alonso lined up as the heir to the Italian's throne.
Alonso, whose deal also runs out at the end of the next season, was linked with a move to Madrid last summer but publicly confirmed his desire to remain with Leverkusen after the 2024 March international break.
Given the chance to do the same this time around, Alonso refused to be drawn on a possible exit at the end of the season.
"The situation is different," he told the media. "Back then, there was something to decide. This time, there's nothing. That's the big difference.
"I'm focusing on this season. That's the most important thing. We're in an important phase. We don't want to speculate or think about things other than football."
