Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has been awarded the Premiership Manager of the Season accolade. The Irishman has taken Celtic from strength to strength this season, capitalising on a Double last year to have his side on the verge of yet another domestic Treble.

With 28 wins this season, Celtic cantered to the title, leaving Rangers and Aberdeen in their wake with fine displays, which effectively had the title secured by Christmas.

The result is very well deserved for Brendan. Celtic have scored 106 goals this league season and will be looking to add to that this season with two fixtures remaining. The manager has managed fatigue and injuries but the levels from the Champions have remained high.

Brendan missed out on the PFA Scotland Manager of the Year Award with John McGlynn of Falkirk pipping him to the award. The Celtic boss is, however, still in contention for the SFWA Award for Manager of the Season. Rodgers will want to continue his side’s dominance in the remainder of the campaign before setting his attention fully on the Cup Final.

Rodgers will be going into the final year on his contract at Celtic as he looks to continue the progress in Europe as well as domestic dominance but a new deal for the manager has to be high on the club’s list of priorities going into the close season.
