Overtaking their combined trophy haul has sent them over the edge. One can only wonder what title number ‘55’ will do to them….

Even after dropping points last Sunday, we still managed to finish the week with a bigger lead over our rivals in second place.

The Celtic Wobble

That result at Tannadice while not what we wanted, wasn’t exactly a huge blow to our title hopes, but it gave others such great hope, well for a short period at least. Keith Jackson at Daily Record was calling it a title wobble that had given renewed hope for theRangers achieving a combined 56 (54 plus 2 over their two clubs).

Even after our Premier Sports League Cup final win, our defeated opponents have still managed to convince themselves and others that they are a much better side, and that they will eventually prevail in their pursuit of success at the expense of ourselves.

Deluded tales

That as we know is complete nonsense, but due to masking their failings with claims of ‘bias’ from match officials, they have bought themselves some time as they and many others have allowed themselves to be fooled by their deluded tales.

Then it’s the Dead Rubber Derby on 2 January and if things go badly for them at Fir Park they could be looking at Celtic being 15 points ahead with the chance of making it an 18 points lead in front of 50,000 of their own supporters.

Overtaking their combined trophy haul

Overtaking the combined trophy haul of the two Ibrox clubs has officially sent them over the edge. One can only wonder what our impending title win, which would be title number ‘55’ will to do them…

Brendan Rodgers loves these visits to Ibrox and Philippe Clement cannot afford to lose out to the Irishman yet again. In Glasgow second is nowhere and a manager who can beat his main rivals never lasts. Clement has bought himself some time by calling out match officials after the cup final. Yesterday’s defeat at St Mirren brings that deflection strategy to a close.

And in the second half yesterday Celtic re-discovered our mojo – that should be ominous for both St Johnstone and then theRangers.

Just an Ordinary Bhoy
