Andre Onana 5 – Didn’t have an awful lot to do but the few times he was called into action, he wasn’t convincing. Parried a good save back into the path of Enzo Fernandez but luckily, he was bailed out by the offside flag. Didn’t react at all to Marc Cucurella’s headed finish.

Victor Lindelof 6 – Dealt with the runners well and made some good passes inside. A positive game for the Swede.

Harry Maguire 7 – Unlucky that his goal was ruled out for a marginal offside. Solid and barely put a foot wrong.

Luke Shaw 6 – Kept his game nice and easy. Good minutes under his belt ahead of next week’s final.

Noussair Mazraoui 4 – At fault for the goal. Cucurella managed to break free of him and he didn’t react quick enough to stop the Spaniard. Apart from that, he was doing well and actually enjoyed a superb first half.

Casemiro 6 – Another good game. Some crucial blocks and interceptions, including one inside the box to stop a low cross. Delivered a few very good forward passes.

Bruno Fernandes 7 – Captain’s performance even though it didn’t count for too much at the end of the day. Exerted his influence on the game, aiming a number of diagonals and through balls to the wide players. Had a shot at goal but he just fired over the bar.

Patrick Dorgu 6 – Made a superb cutback to Mason Mount that should have resulted in a goal. Brilliant in his duels and challenges, bar one moment when Pedro Neto had the beating of him.

Amad 7 – Primary source of United’s threat. Bright on the right and never shied away from taking is man when the opportunity presented itself. Came close to levelling the score with a powerful effort but he was denied by Robert Sanchez.

Mason Mount 5 – Worked hard but he should have done much better with the two chances that fell to him.

Rasmus Hojlund 1 – Shambolic. Couldn’t hold the ball up, passing was poor, lost almost all his duels and never once looked like a threat. Struggles with the basics of being a striker and it feels like United are a man down with him on the pitch. A serious decision on his future is looming as the summer transfer window approaches.

Substitutes

Manuel Ugarte 5 – Didn’t really make a difference but I suppose his introduction was intended to give Casemiro a break.

Alejandro Garnacho 4 – Same as Ugarte. No impact. You’d expect a lot better from him against tired legs.

Ayden Heaven 6 – Picked up where Shaw left off. Strong and aggressive in his actions. Nice to have him back after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Kobbie Mainoo 5 – Just OK when he came on. Caught on the ball once.
