I was absolutely shocked to read that one Chelsea attacker took 20 less touches than his goalkeeper in their defeat against Brighton last night!
The Blues went down 2-1 against Brighton as the home side came from a goal down to win the game and dump Chelsea out of the FA Cup for another season.
Chelsea took a very early lead through and awful goalkeeping error from a Cole Palmer cross for the second week in a row, getting very lucky. But after that, nothing was good at all for Chelsea and Enzo Maresca made some comments too after the game that Chelsea fans will be fuming with.
Chelsea were just awful yet again and continued their slump and poor form that they have had since Christmas week really. The season started well, but things are being found out and questions are starting to be asked.
One massive question is why didn’t they sign a new striker in January? With injuries to current striker, Christopher Nkunku, who is NOT a striker, was forced to start up there last night.

Despite leading the lines for the Blues, the Frenchman failed to register a single attempt on goal and was unsuccessful with his one attempt at a dribble. He was also dispossessed on multiple occasions and registered just 34 touches on the ball, a number that was even less than Chelsea’s goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez (54). He offered nothing for his team going forward.
That’s shockingly bad from the attacker, whatever position he is playing in. But once again it just goes to show that Chelsea should have signed a striker in the winter window and failed to do so.
This is just one of a whole host of awful decisions the sporting directors have made in their apparent squad building at the club.
