Chelsea have the only player in Europe’s top five leagues who has won at least 100 duels, 50 tackles, and 25 fouls in impressive set of stats.

As we know, The Blues have been signing up an impressive array of young talents from around the globe in the last few seasons, many of whom are ready to slot in and play right now.

Even though they have made some smart signings recently, the January window was really bad for Chelsea in my view.

The transfer window closed a couple of weeks back now and it was a very bland and strange one for Chelsea. They only made one signing and he is a player who is just expected to play as a deep backup option this season and then probably go on loan in the summer.

Other than that, Chelsea just loaned a bunch of players out with the only permanent one being Cesare Casadei to Torino in the end.

But one success story for Chelsea in terms of youth recruitment in the last couple of years is midfielder Andrey Santos, who seems to be a superb capture.

According to Opta, whilst on loan with Strasbourg this season, Andrey Santos is the only player with at least 100 duels won (147), 50 tackles won (51), and 25 fouls won (41) in the European Top 5 this season.

Those are some incredible numbers. It makes you wonder what plan Chelsea have for Santos to come back in this summer because he is good enough to be starting for them now, but will he get in ahead of the likes of Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez, Romeo Lavia, and Cole Palmer who all operate in those midfield central positions?
