CM: Furlani ‘strengthened by Cardinale’ – ‘centralised’ role will see him pick new coach and sporting director | OneFootball

AC Milan are entering one of the most important summers of their recent history, and everything must be done correctly and calculatedly.

At present, there is a lot of clarity needed across the board with Milan, whether that is on or off the pitch, and this summer must be a big part in the clearance. The management is set to be restructured a little, and a new head coach will arrive.

In the same sentence, the club must decide how the next step will go – it can either be an aggressive rebuild, to try and get to the top quickly, or an easier approach, with the hope of settling and then progressing.

That decision, it seems, is being left to Giorgio Furlani, who this morning, according to Calciomercato.com, has been given the keys to the club.

Being in New York recently, a turning point has occurred, and after a meeting with Gerry Cardinale, he has had his position strengthened, ‘especially in the head-to-head’ with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, which is certainly something.

Because of this, he will now be in charge of naming the new Sporting Director, but it also seems that he will be entrusted with selecting the new head coach.
