Lecce director Pantaleo Corvino has found another gem in Nikola Krstovic, and AC Milan expressed their interest in signing him.
As Calciomercato.com report, president Sticchi Damiani has entrusted the helm of Lecce to Corvino, who for more than 30 years has given lessons on how to build teams full of talent spending little or nothing.
The Patrick Dorgu deal closed in January with Manchester United was another masterpiece as he went for €30m plus €7.5m in bonuses. Lecce signed him in February of 2023 and they paid just €220k to do so.
The next jewel on display is the Montenegrin striker Krstovic. He arrived from Dunajska Streda, a Slovakian club, for €4m but now for Corvino he is worth €25-30m, after a season with seven goals in a struggling side.
The interest of top-tier teams certifies the quality of Lecce’s scouting work and Krstovic’s performances. In the winter window Milan gathered information him in view of the possible departure with Tammy Abraham.
The Rossoneri management admire his the 24-year-old, but Lecce’s high asking price may represent an obstacle to opening a negotiation. Roma are also keen on the cnetre-forward, while Fiorentina are keeping an eye on him too in case Beltran or Kean leave.
