AC Milan have some big decisions to make regarding the future of their project in the coming weeks, and yet CEO Giorgio Furlani seems to be taking his time.
According to Calciomercato.com, there is a two-week break in the season for the international break, and yet Milan shouldn’t make any significant progress in planning for next season. They are trying to speed up the choices on two key figures: the sporting director, and the coach to take Sergio Conceiçao’s place.
The respective processes are still underway and – according to what leaks from Casa Milan – in the next few days the CEO Furlani will be busy with a series of meetings with commercial partners in Dubai, where the Rossoneri inaugurated a headquarters in 2023.
At least at the beginning of this week, there are no meetings scheduled with potential candidates to restructure the management. That is despite Furlani’s trip to New York to reiterate to the owner Gerry Cardinale that he has the final say on all decisions, financial and sporting.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Cardinale meanwhile started a series of discussions in the past few weeks, first with Fabio Paratici and then with Igli Tare. Their aim: to identify the sporting director who should take office as soon as possible, to choose the best coach and plan transfer moves for the summer.

Furlani, who has re-established the balance of power, has literally started the selection process of the director from scratch. Paratici is the name that intrigues the most alongside Tony D’Amico, with whom the executive has already had an initial approach, though nothing is advanced.
Time is of the essence and – given that Furlani was so keen to wrestle control back – he is the one with the greatest responsibility to make the decisions quickly that put Milan back on the right track after a tremendously complicated season.
The names for the coach that seem most realistic remain Massimiliano Allegri, Vincenzo Italiano, Gian Piero Gasperini and Antonio Conte. The planning for 2025-26 should begin in March and April, but for now everything is proceeding with ‘extreme calm’.
