The 2024 MLS Cup winners are at it again. The Los Angeles Galaxy are transforming their roster at the midfield position.
The team's original moves included drafting Jacob Bucknor out of the University of Michigan. He was selected in the first round of the MLS Super Draft back in December.
Another transaction was made shortly after. General Manager Will Kuntz swapped out Gaston Brugman for Nashville SC's Sean Davis. The move sent MLS Finals MVP to the Eastern Conference for a veteran leader at the same position.
Now, with a recent signing, another midfielder is a part of the organization. Last week, it was reported by US.AS.com that Vincente Garcia has signed a training contract adding to the Los Angeles Galaxy.
Despite being born in the United States, Garcia does have dual citizenship with his native country and with Mexico, as well. He is a talented player who will be on the radar with both countries on their U-15 teams.
The next step for Garcia to make the main roster for the LA Galaxy is to impress at the MLS Next Pro level. Former member of the LA Galaxy.
This is a homegrown player deal. Under MLS rules, homegrown players have to reside in the home territory of the club and participate in their youth development system for the minimum of one year.
"I feel like I am a player with a lot of technique, vision. I like to filter a lot of passes to my teammates and I am a box-to-box player."Vincente Garcia, LA Galaxy midfielder
With an ACL injury to Riqui Puig during the MLS Western Conference Finals, the Los Angeles Galaxy are thinking about the future of their roster. Garcia provides a solid jump for when some the team's stars enter their 30's and beyond.
The oldest member of the Galaxy's midfield is Marco Reus. After leaving from Borussia Dortmund, the German-born soccer player signed mid-season to join the Los Angeles Galaxy.
While Garcia may not take the field with Reus and company right away, his path is in front of him. The center midfielder could be the next international talent to play for the Galaxy, just like Puig and Reus.
