Manchester United sustained their 11th defeat of the Premier League campaign at home to Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.
Judging by some players’ in-game behaviour, you wouldn’t think the side were sat 13th-placed.
It was yet another day to forget for Ruben Amorim and his men as they fell to a dismal 2-0 loss at the hands of the Eagles, who were then able to overtake them in the table by one point. The result marked the fifth time in the last six outings at Old Trafford that the Reds were on the losing end, which is nothing short of unforgivable for the players.
During the clash, Samuel Luckhurst highlighted one rather tone-deaf trait of United’s squad that Amorim has to stamp out now that he’s in the hot seat.
“Something Amorim needs to cut out in this MUFC squad: over-celebrating after a save, a block, a tackle or a clearance. Good teams hold a mini inquest if they’ve given the opponent a chance. United players high-five and chest-bump after getting bailed out. It’s a daft mentality,” said the Manchester Evening News journalist.
For most fans, there’s certainly one culprit who’ll come to mind almost instantaneously: Diogo Dalot.

Amorim’s quest to salvage something of this torrid United term is likely to become even more of an uphill battle when the window closes, as he’s set to have only Alejandro Garnacho, Amad Diallo, Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee as his forward options from now until May.
The club have sanctioned the loan exits of both Antony and Marcus Rashford without finalising any deals for their replacements first. It’s also worth noting that the side remain in the FA Cup and Europa League as of now, meaning depth will be vital if they have any chance of progressing to the later stages of the competitions.
