Chelsea have been dealt a blow after transfer target Evan Ferguson agreed to join West Ham on loan according to reports.
The January transfer window is into the final 48 hours, and Chelsea still have a lot of work to do before Monday’s deadline.
The Blues have sold Cesare Casadei, but they still have a number of players they are looking to move on, whilst they are working to try and bring in at least one new face.
It’s no secret the Blues would like to add an attacker to their squad, but so far that has proven to be difficult for Enzo Maresca’s side.
Chelsea are desperate for an alternative to Nicolas Jackson, who is yet to score this year, but with the clock ticking it doesn’t appear they will be get another striker.
It was reported the Blues had joined the race for Brighton striker Ferguson, with the 20-year-old said to be available for loan or on a permanent basis.

Ferguson would have offered Chelsea an alternative option for six months at a low cost and he’s got Premier League experience.
However, The Athletic’s David Ornstein has reported that Ferguson is set to undergo a medical with West Ham after the Hammers reached an agreement with Brighton.
With Ferguson set to make a temporary switch to the London Stadium it very much looks like Chelsea won’t add the number nine they desperately need this window.
