David Raya starts as Arteta names Arsenal starting XI | OneFootball

David Raya has been named to start for Arsenal for their Premier League meeting with Leicester City today.

The Spanish goalkeeper was a doubt heading into the game after sustaining what Mikel Arteta described as a “muscle injury” in last Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Manchester City.

16-year-old Jack Porter stepped into the lineup for the 5-1 win over Bolton Wanderers in the League Cup in midweek, but Raya will retake the gloves as the Gunners entertain the Foxes at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal‘s starting XI remains unchanged from the City game, with Jurrien Timber, Gabriel Magalhães, William Saliba, Riccardo Calafiori forming the backline protecting Raya.

Declan Rice and Thomas Partey will pair up in midfield, while Kai Havertz is likely to drop deep during the game. Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli form the frontline.

Ben White is the major omission from the matchday squad after missing the Bolton game with an unknown injury.
