Davide Ancelotti set for solo managerial venture, with Rangers likely to be his new destination | OneFootball

Clarity is slowly growing over the managerial situation in Madrid and the past 24 hours have been pivotal. After all, Carlo Ancelotti’s departure has been confirmed through an official announcement of his recruitment as the new manager of Brazil.

Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso’s arrival as the new Real Madrid manager is also all but official and is set to be confirmed in the coming days.

What this means is a complete overhaul of staff at the Valdebebas. Most of Ancelotti’s team will move with him to the Selecao but AS reveals that his son and assistant coach, Davide Ancelotti is set to start a solo adventure.

Off to Scotland

Having served as an assistant manager to his father for a long time now, Davide sees the time to be right to take the next big step in his career – to go solo and take over as a manager.

He will not be alone in his venture as Francesco Mauri will also move with him to help support the new project.

As it stands, Davide will be with his father for Brazil’s first two games but will then part ways and head over to his new job. All signs point to him taking over as the new manager of Rangers – the Scottish giants.

The young tactician had offers on his table from Como in Italy and Saudi Arabia as well, but he sees Rangers to be the right way to move forward given their rich history and participation in the UEFA Champions League.

Further, the team is being acquired by a reliable American heavyweight in the Francisco 49ers and will thus have a solid project moving forward and will also thus be connected to Leeds in England who share the ownership.
