Deco keen on 28-year-old Colombian winger’s arrival as Barcelona crunch the numbers – Report | OneFootball

It is quite clear that FC Barcelona will try to bring some reinforcements to their team in the upcoming summer transfer window, and one of the areas that the Blaugranes will be looking to strengthen with the highest priority will be the attacking line.

The Catalans already have one of the best-attacking lines in Europe, made up of the trio of Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal, and Raphinha. However, they are looking to bring in greater depth for this area of the team.

For this purpose, their top-most priority is the Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak, but signing the Swede will almost be impossible keeping in view the large sum of money expected to be involved in a potential transfer and Magpies’ reluctance to part ways with him.

Another highly liked candidate of the Barcelona Sporting Director Deco is the Liverpool forward Luis Diaz, whose signing will also not be easy but who will still be more affordable than Isak.

In this regard, SPORT reports that the Blaugrana club has already started doing its financial analysis to assess the possibility of generating the financial margin that would be required to sign the Colombian winger.

The transfer fee for this operation is expected to remain in the range of €70-75 million. Furthermore, the Catalans will also have to generate a salary space of around €30 million to cover for his salary and amortization.

To generate these sums, Barcelona have several avenues in mind. In addition to the funds that they can obtain from the transfers of players on whom they have some rights, including Oscar Mingueza, Alex Valle, etc., they are also open to making some sales from the midfield.

The Blaugranes believe they have a surplus of players from this area of the team, and except Pedri, none of their current midfielders is untouchable.
