Amanda Ilestedt will depart Arsenal this summer, when her contract expires with the North London club.
The 32-year-old signed for the Gunners in 2023 and made her first appearance for the club in September of the same year, as Arsenal claimed a 3-0 win over Linköping in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
That was the first of 23 appearances for the North London side, with three goals coming along the way for the Sweden international who has been among the nominees for both FIFA’s The Best Women’s Player award and the Ballon d’Or Féminin during her time in the English capital.
Ilestedt became pregnant and gave birth to her daughter last year, returning to play in January 2025.
The defender contributed to Arsenal’s success in the Women’s League Cup in 2023/24, and could pick up another medal before she departs the club this summer when the Gunners take on Barcelona in the UEFA Women’s Champions League final on Saturday 24 May.
