The FA have been alerted to the impressive form of former Arsenal striker Mika Biereth at AS Monaco, according to the Daily Mail.

The Gunners sold the 22-year-old forward to Sturm Graz for £4 million last summer after an initial loan spell at the Austrian top-flight club, and he moved to Ligue 1 during the January transfer window.

Biereth has ten goals and an assist in seven league appearances since moving to Monaco, and the Three Lions are eyeing him as he is yet to play for any national team at senior level.

The Denmark youth international did not get to make a first-team debut for Arsenal before leaving, but he has since notched three hat-tricks in France and manager Mikel Arteta could do with such a player right now.

The London-born Biereth joined the North London club from Fulham in July 2021, signing his first professional contract with them.

He had loan spells at RKC Waalwijk and Motherwell before joining Sturm Graz in a temporary deal in January 2024, leaving the Austrian Bundesliga after 23 goals.

Biereth is also eligible to play for Germany and Bosnia and Herzegovina, but England will be hoping they can pip them and Denmark to his international services.

Arsenal included a sell-on clause in the deal which saw him join Graz, and they stand to benefit financially following his move to Monaco, but they could be wishing they included a buy-back clause in the deal given his current form and their injury crisis at the front.

They are without Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka at the moment, and Arteta has been forced to play Mikel Merino as his number 9 in recent games.

While they had no problem strolling to a 7-1 victory against PSV Eindhoven in the first-leg of the Champions League round of 16 on Tuesday night, their lack of attacking options has proven costly in the Premier League title race as they have picked up just one point in their last two league games.
