England to face Jamaica in EURO warm-up | OneFootball

England will face Jamaica in an international friendly just days before the start of UEFA Women’s EURO 2025.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official press release from The Football Association this afternoon.

It has been reported that the Lionesses will take on the ‘Reggae Girlz’ at The King Power Stadium in Leicester on Sunday 29 June 2025 (kick-off 5pm). It will be the first-ever meeting between the two nations. England will then fly out to Switzerland ahead of their first UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 fixture against France which is scheduled to take place on Saturday 5 July 2025.

Speaking following this afternoon’s announcement, England head coach Sarina Wiegman said “I am really pleased to be able to play a good game to finalise our EUROs preparations on English soil. Jamaica will be a difficult test, they’re a nation we haven’t faced before and a real opportunity for us to keep learning and growing as a team. They are building as a team themselves and have been doing really well, especially at the last World Cup. It will be a special occasion and atmosphere in a great stadium which we have performed well at in the past.

“We will do our best to put on a good performance and make it a memorable send-off moment for both the team and the fans. There will only be one week until our opening match against France in Zurich so this is an important milestone in our preparation.

“We have faced some really tough opposition recently and have learnt so much as a team. We still need to focus on the remaining fixtures in the Nations League with our final home game to Portugal at Wembley followed by a trip to Barcelona to face Spain. These will be challenging fixtures and we will continue the hard work and preparation right through until the competition starts.”

England’s next fixture is a UEFA Women’s Nations League match against Portugal at Wembley Stadium on Friday 30 May 2025.
