WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Toffees this morning.
Mjelde joins Everton following a short spell with Norwegian club Arna-Bjørnar. The player is best known for her seven-and-a-half-year spell at Chelsea. Mjelde won 13 trophies with The Blues including six Barclays Women’s Super League titles.
On the international stage, Mjelde has more than 175 caps to her name for Norway.
After completing her move to Everton, Mjelde said “I am always hungry for more, I love playing football and am happy to continue my journey here at Everton.
“Hopefully I can contribute. If it is with goals or just the player I am, I want to do the best for the team to make Everton better and progress – that is why I am here.
“I have played against Everton a couple of times and have also watched Everton play. We are a ball-possession team which I like to play in. I like to play and win, it is a good mixture of both. I am just really excited to play, work under Brian [Sørensen], see the girls and get to work with them.”
Mjelde is Everton’s sixth signing of the January transfer window.
