Defender Benjamin Pavard is making speedy progress towards a return in Inter Milan’s Champions league second leg against Barcelona.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan defender Benjamin Pavard missed the first leg of his team’s Champions League semifinal tie against Barcelona.
The Frenchman suffered an ankle sprain during last weekend’s Serie A clash with Roma. Therefore, he was unable to feature against the Blaugranas.
Yann Bisseck started in place of Pavard in last Wednesday’s thrilling 3-3 draw.
Meanwhile, Pavard also missed out on yesterday’s Serie A win over Hellas Verona. That was hardly surprising.
However, the big question now is whether Pavard will be able to return for the second leg against Barcelona.

Clearly, being available for the second leg against Barcelona is an absolute priority for Benjamin Pavard.
This Tuesday’s match could be season-defining for Inter.
And Pavard has been a key player for Inter throughout their Champions League campaign so far.
There is certainly no guarantee that Pavard will be available for Tuesday’s match.
The 29-year-old is still dealing with his ankle problem, and not yet back in training.
However, Pavard has proven able to play through pain in the past.
The former Bayern Munich defender still has a couple more days in which to work his way back to fitness.
And according to the Gazzetta, Pavard is progressing at some speed.
