Two changes

Head coach Alexander Straus made two changes to the team that started the 2-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen prior to the international break. Captain Glódis Viggósdóttir missed out with a knee issue, so Tuva Hansen came into defence, while Schüller started in place of Julia Zigiotti for her 160th Bayern appearance. Jovana Damnjanović, who missed the last game with bruised ribs, was back in the squad.

Schüller strikes early

The game started with an immediate blow for Eintracht as centre-back Jella Veit went down unchallenged and had to go off. Frankfurt looked to press high, but Bayern remained calm and struck with their first attack when Bühl’s low ball across the face of goal found Schüller at the far post to turn in with just 12 minutes gone. The hosts attempted to respond when Lisanne Gräwe put a Laura Freigang cross over the bar from close range. Harder then struck the woodwork almost immediately after. But Bayern were able to double their advantage just before the half-hour mark when Bühl turned in Harder’s ball back from the byline. The goal was originally ruled out for offside but eventually awarded by the referee. Half chances came and went for both sides up to the break, although Frankfurt goalkeeper Stina Johannes produced a good double save to thwart Alara and Harder in quick succession.

Lea Schüller marked her 160th Bayern game with a goal.

Perfect start to second half

It took Straus’s side only three minutes after the restart to grab their third. Giulia Gwinn’s cross into the box wasn’t dealt with, with Harder quickest to react and knock the ball in from close range. Both teams continued to attack in front of the Frankfurt club-record crowd of 30,500 inside Deutsche Bank Park, with Bayern goalkeeper Ena Mahmutovic called into action on a number of occasions. However, the league leaders saw things out with relative calm to extend their winning run and advantage at the Bundesliga summit.
