FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Trophy Tour arrives in Munich

The new FIFA Club World Cup trophy will be on display at FC Bayern World in Munich on 24 and 25 March, ahead of Bayern Munich's participation in this summer's inaugural 32-team competition in the USA.

Along with Borussia Dortmund, Bayern are one of two Bundesliga teams to have qualified for the merit-based tournament, which will be staged across 12 US stadiums from 14 June to 13 July 2025. As part of the build-up, the Club World Cup trophy - a collaboration between FIFA and luxury jeweller Tiffany & Co. - has been touring the home cities of all 32 participants.

Bayern legend Giovane Élber took receipt of the trophy at FC Bayern World - the club's flagship store - in Munich's Marienplatz on 24 March. Following photo and autograph opportunities for fans, Élber and Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen fielded media questions at a specially organised press conference.

"I've had the honour of experiencing the Club World Cup finals twice. That was always something special - but the sporting challenge of playing just one or two games to win the title was completely different to what it will be now," Dreesen said. "Now we can compete with the 32 best teams in the world - with top teams from every continent. It's something very special - and I think the trophy expresses just that."

Bayern begin their Club World Cup 2025 campaign against Auckland City on 15 June, before facing Boca Juniors (20 June) and Benfica (24 June) in their remaining Group C fixtures.

Club World Cup winners in its former guise in 2013 and 2020, Germany's record champions will look to make history as the first winners of the new competition, which also features the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.

"The fact that the FIFA Club World Cup is taking place in a new format in our anniversary year is a coincidence," Dreesen explained. "It's always something special when a tournament that's never been played in this format takes place for the first time. All the players are keen on it. They don't just want to take part, they want to win! And all of this in our 125th anniversary year - that's really something special."
