Fan travel is one of Brentford’s biggest sources of greenhouse gas emissions. To try and reduce this impact, we want to get as many Bees fans as possible cycling to matches, starting with our game against Manchester United on Sunday 4 May.
Many Brentford fans already cycle to the Gtech and use the permanent bike racks outside of the stadium on Lionel Road South.
For this Sunday’s game, we’re organising additional secure bike parking and activity on the day to reward fans that bike to Brentford and lock up at our locations.
Here’s how you can get involved on matchday.
On matchday, Brentford will reward fans who take part with a voucher to claim a food item and a hot or soft drink redeemable at any Four Corners or Griffin Kitchen kiosks inside Gtech Community Stadium, or a hot dog and drink in our premium areas.
The first 250 junior fans will also receive a goodie bag.
To get a voucher or goodie bag, arrive and lock your bike at any of the three bike parking locations organised for fans. Parking locations are listed below.
Fans can park and secure their bikes at one of three bike parks organised for matchday.
Bike parks are staffed at all times and include secure storage for items including helmets and e-bike batteries. Please remember to bring your own bike lock.
Park at one of these locations on matchday:
All parks are open two hours before kick-off and close two hours after full-time. A photo of the rider and stored items will be taken on arrival and checked on exit.
Free bike maintenance will be available at our Brentford Studios and Chiswick Roundabout bike parks for fans who want a maintenance check and minor repairs.
Bike maintenance runs until kick-off and is first come, first served. Arrive early to have the best chance of being seen.
Join fellow fans for a relaxed and sociable cycle ride to the Gtech, led by professional ride leaders from Gapped Cycling.
Join a ride beginning from Acton, Ealing Broadway, Hounslow East, or Richmond, each departing at 12.30pm and riding back again after the match.
These family friendly rides are organised by Sustaina-Bees, an independent supporters' group for Brentford fans with knowledge and interest in the environment.
The rides are free and led by professionals trained to keep rides safe and accessible. Everyone is welcome, although places are limited.
Group rides will arrive at Gtech Community Stadium between 1pm-1.15pm and will park at one of the Bike to Brentford organised bike parks. Sign up for a ride here.
Lime are offering codes for 15 minutes free ride time to riders that end their journey at our Chiswick Roundabout bike park, which includes additional capacity for e-bikes.
Park up and use your code immediately to discount part or the whole of your journey, or save your code for another time.
Brompton are offering free one day hire of their folding bikes for use on Sunday 4 May.
The first 100 fans to redeem the code on the Brompton Bike Hire app will receive one day of credit to hire a bike. The code and instructions claim your credit will be revealed on this webpage on Friday 2 May. Check back then to claim yours.
Lime and Brompton codes are one use per customer.
James Beale, sustainability manager, said about Bike to Brentford: “Initiatives like this are how we bring Brentford fans along with us on our sustainability journey. Cycling to games is already popular amongst those that use bike parking and cycle highways near to the stadium.
“With so many of our fans living locally to the Gtech, we hope supporters taking part find that cycling to the match is safe, accessible and a great way to build community with other fans.”
