Galatasaray and Tottenham Hotspur meet in the Europa League on Thursday in a mouthwatering contest at RAMS Park.
Galatasaray (4-2-3-1): Muslera; Ayhan, Sanchez, Bardakci, Kohn; Torreira, Sara; Yilmaz, Mertens, Akgun; Osimhen
Tottenham (4-3-3): Vicario; Gray, Dragusin, Davies, Udogie; Bergvall, Bissouma, Maddison; Johnson, Solanke, Werner.
This league-phase contest is scheduled to kick off at 5:45pm and will be shown on TNT Sports 1 in the UK.
Tottenham have won all three matches in this season’s Europa League, but they put their unbeaten record on the line against a Galatasaray side who pose Spurs’ biggest threat yet in this competition.
Gala are just two points and three places behind the north London side in the 36-team table after two wins and a draw from their opening trio of fixtures.
Tottenham have been faultless so far in the Europa League but they face their biggest test yet in the competition.
Three wins from three is a great start for Spurs, but Gala are a step up in class from vanquished previous opponents Qarabag, Ferencvaros and AZ.
Two of those victories came on home soil and Tottenham have a patchy record on their travels this season having won three of the seven away trips in all competitions.
Tottenham have won just one of their two trips to Turkey and they will take on a Gala side this week who are in great nick.
Okan Buruk’s side have won six of their last seven home games and they are on a run of 11 matches without defeat in all competitions.
A hostile welcome awaits Tottenham this week and they will have to be at their very best to end their two-match losing streak away from home.
But Gala’s record against English opposition isn’t particularly great with their 23 matches against teams from England yielding just five wins. So it may pay to not be too bullish about their chances from a betting perspective.
Left-back Ismail Jakobs looks like being the only absentee for Gala this week, as he remains sidelined with a knee injury.
Goalkeeper Fernando Muslera returns following a European suspension and is expected to start in goal.
Cristian Romero is a major doubt for the trip to Turkey with a foot injury, while Djed Spence will also be assessed with a groin problem.
Ben Davies will likely deputise in central defence alongside Radu Dragusin if Romero does miss out. Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou will also consider handing recalls to the likes of James Maddison, Yves Bissouma, Lucas Bergvall, Timo Werner and Mikey Moore.
