AC Milan and Bologna will meet for the second time in five days and this time there is a trophy on the line: the Coppa Italia.

For Milan, the game at the Stadio Olimpico represents the chance to try and salvage at least part of what has been a disastrous campaign, and most likely represents the best route into Europe for 2025-26.

The Rossoneri and Rossoblu only faced each other on Friday in Serie A, a game that Milan came from behind to win, scoring three times in the last 18 minutes to secure a 3-1 victory and severely dent Bologna’s hopes of a top four finish.

As expected, today’s newspapers in Italy are dominated by the final, given how much is on the line for both teams.

La Gazzetta dello Sport: “I want you. Coppa Italia final at Stadio Olimpico.For Milan and Bologna there isn’t just a trophy stake, but also a way to the Europa League which weighs heavily on the future.”
