Hansi Flick labels Barcelona star ‘a genius’ | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has on Friday moved to heap fresh praise on a leading member of the attacking ranks in his squad.

The player in question? Lamine Yamal.

Wide-man Lamine is of course in the midst of nothing short of a remarkable season to date.

Despite still being just 17 years of age, the Spanish international has long established himself as one of the very first names on the team sheet of boss Hansi Flick.

And safe to say, Lamine has rewarded his manager’s trust, and then some.

All told, across 45 appearances in all competitions in 2024/25, the winger has racked up 35 direct goal contributions, terrorising opposing backlines along the way.

And such ongoing brilliance has not been at all lost on his manager.

Speaking to the media in his latest pre-match press conference on Friday, in fact, Hansi Flick went as far as to state:

“Everyone knows that Lamine Yamal is a genius. At 17 years old, he has a lot of pressure on his back. But we need him at his best level.”
