The appointment of Hansi Flick as the head coach of FC Barcelona following the dismissal of Xavi Hernandez raised mixed feelings among the Blaugrana fans.

On the one hand, the Catalan side has experienced some of the best moments in its history with a person in charge of the team who was well acquainted with the club, something that was not the case with Flick.

On the other hand, the German tactician’s record was incredible, as he had won a sextuple with the only club side whose head coach he had been before taking the job at Barcelona, i.e., Bayern Munich.

In fact, following his appointment as the head coach of the Bavarian team after Niko Kovac’s departure, he turned the Bundesliga side into one of the most dominant teams in Europe, and his current club directly experienced the quality of his team as he led his Bayern side to an 8-2 win over them in the single-legged quarter-final of the 2019-20 UCL.

However, as SPORT has noted, the German coach is already outdoing himself as his Barcelona team’s performances are even better than his Bayern team’s in some aspects.

For instance, the Bavarians averaged 3.02 goals in each game on average under Hansi Flick, while the Blaugrana team is scoring at an average of 3.07 goals every game under the same coach. Robert Lewandowski has been a key player contributing to this high average in both of Flick’s teams.

Furthermore, despite their run of poor results at the end of last year, the Catalan side’s points per game average is also very close to that achieved by the Bavarian team. With Bayern, Flick took 2.53 points from each game, while with Barcelona, he is getting 2.35 points.

Thus, if their performances on the pitch were not enough, these numbers also show how well the German coach is doing with the Blaugrana team, and as was the case with Munich, he is also on track to win all the big trophies this year with Barcelona.
