Harry Kane and Bayern Munich's frustration was short-lived as Bayern Munich officially clinched the Bundesliga title after Bayer Leverkusen drew 2-2 against Freiburg, the result needed to end the title race.

With just two games remaining, Leverkusen are eight points behind Bayern Munich and can no longer afford to catch up with their rivals, thus ending their dream of a league title even before the matches against Borussia Dortmund and Mainz. In other words, Leverkusen's chances of winning titles this season are over.

Despite this, no one can say that Leverkusen didn't at least try to delay the Bavarians' party, as they controlled 70% of Freiburg's possession during the first half, but the home team were more assertive and managed to get a goal before the break, among the three shots on target during the match.

The lead built up by Max Eggstein in the 44th minute was extended shortly after the break when Hincapé ended up scoring an own goal on Manzambi's head in the 49th minute. In this scenario, Xabi Alonso's side needed three goals to prevent an early exit from the Bundesliga.
