‘He drags you all over the place’… Ronald Araujo names the most intimidating Barcelona players in training | OneFootball

After having been a key defender for FC Barcelona for the last few years, the Uruguayan Ronald Araujo is having a highly uncertain season at the Catalan club.

After having renewed his contract only some weeks ago, the veteran defender is once again not having a lot of minutes on the pitch, leading to speculation about a potential exit in the coming summer transfer window.

In such a context, the player appeared in an interview with SPORT, in which he talked about different aspects of his life at the Blaugrana club.

One of the questions he was asked in this interview was about the Barcelona teammate that intimidates him the most during training. The Uruguayan was quite clear on this matter as he named two players:

“I make it difficult for everyone, but Lamine is special. He drags you all over the place, shows you the ball, then hides it. I remember that at first, when he came up, he wouldn’t dare to take players on. But now, he comes after you. He’s special. Dani Olmo has that kind of talent too—he keeps the ball glued to his foot, and it’s hard to take it away from him.”

The Uruguayan defender went on to praise Lamine Yamal for his good decision-making despite his youth:

“Lamine is a very intelligent kid. He knows what’s right and what’s wrong. His mother is always looking out for him, and he comes from a good family. And we also keep an eye on him. As captains, if we see something wrong, we’ll tell him. But he is very smart and responsible, just like the rest.”

Since the start of the last season, Yamal has showcased his good judgment and dribbling skills on the pitch quite frequently. This combination makes him one of the most exciting and lethal forwards in Europe, who is going to only improve further as the months go by.
