Championship strugglers Plymouth Argyle are interested in signing midfielder Malachi Boateng from Scottish side Hearts, according to Plymouth Live.

Boateng, a product of Crystal Palace’s youth academy, moved to Scotland only in the summer last year.

He has since played in 20 of the club’s 25 Scottish Premiership matches and has also gathered European experience by playing for them in the Europa Conference League.

He could be on his way back to England after just six months with interest arriving from the Championship.

Plymouth Argyle, trying to pick themselves up from the bottom of the table, have put Boateng on their list of deadline day targets.

In fact, they are interested in signing Boateng permanently from Hearts.

With time running out though, they will have to rush that transfer.

Argyle have been extremely active in the January transfer market with a significant number of new players being brought in through the Home Park door.
