Real Madrid are now four points clear at the top of La Liga after their 3-0 victory at Real Valladolid on Saturday evening. It is now 11 wins in their last 13 matches in all competitions for Los Blancos, who are once again looking like the best team in Spain.

For Carlo Ancelotti, it was a very satisfying result and performance, and he was very impressed with the professionalism that his players showed. As per Diario AS, he also spoke on the La Liga title race, which is becoming less and less competitive because of Real Madrid’s growing advantage.

“The important thing is to keep winning. Obviously we have more quality, but we have to fight for all the games, compete for them, fight for them… Because all the rivals want to beat you. I think it was easy after a game, but we can never do it before. The team interpreted the game well, handled the situations well and without haste in the first half knowing that once the scoring was opened, everything would be less complicated.

“It’s true that we’ve done well in La Liga in recent times, we’ve had a good advantage, but this is too long to think it’s over. We have a small difference and hopefully we can ‘take advantage of it’ in the next games.”

Ancelotti also spoke on Kylian Mbappe, who was Real Madrid’s difference maker at the Jose Zorrilla as he scored his first hat-trick for the club.

“He has been playing well for a long time and today, for the first time, he scored three. He is contributing a lot – for a long time you have seen that he has picked up pace and, obviously, for us he is a plus, because he is a player who has a lot of quality.”

Real Madrid are certainly looking very good right now, and to make matters worse for the rest of La Liga, they now have Vinicius Junior back as his two-match suspension has now concluded. He’ll be free to face Espanyol next weekend.
