Zlatan Ibrahimovic insists that there is nothing worth reading into after the on-pitch confrontation between Milan coach Sergio Conceicao and Davide Calabria at the full-time whistle after the 3-2 win over Parma on Saturday. ‘It happened to me a thousand times’.

Milan recorded a 3-2 win at home against Parma in Serie A on Saturday in a game that was not lacking in action – during and after.

The Rossoneri had trailed by 2-1 in the 91st minute only to claim a fourth comeback victory in seven games since Conceicao took over, but the coach then ran across the pitch to shout at Calabria immediately after the full-time whistle.

“Yesterday’s situation with Calabria and Conceicao, there was a lot of adrenaline. They are two winners who did what they did,” Ibrahimovic said on Monday while sitting next to Kyle Walker, who was being introduced to the press.

Reports after the game suggested that Ibrahimovic’s intervention helped calm the situation down, but the Swede insists that the matter was already quashed by the time he got into the dressing room.

“It happened to me a thousand times on and off the pitch,” Ibrahimovic continued. “The important thing is that it was resolved, before I entered the dressing room.

“This same thing happened to me in Barcelona, at Milan, in Paris, with United: It’s normal. Everyone wants to win at all costs. When it happened to me, (Fabio) Capello told me: ‘Don’t worry, it’s good for the team’.

Conceicao and Calabria do their jobs for the good of the team. It’s good that these things happen, because otherwise it would seem like nothing matters. The image might seem ugly, but these things happen.”
