Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has offered little reassurance for fans going into Chelsea’s next few crucial games coming up.

Last night they did manage to get a win though, even if it was less than convincing.

The Blues beat Copenhagen 2-1 away from home in the first leg of their round of 16 clash in the Conference League last night, but it was not a good performance at all from Enzo Maresca’s side.

EXCLUSIVE! Calibre of Chelsea’s summer transfer targets rests on a few key elements – names and details inside!

There was some positives of course, especially with the two goals. A lovely finish by Reece James was followed up by some good work by youngster Tyrique George to assist Enzo Fernandez to score the second goal.

But unfortunately there were more negatives than positive, with one being Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall who was once again just terrible, there is no other way to describe it.

They certainly didn’t look much like the most expensive squad ever assembled in football, which is what UEFA have found them to be this week.

But Copenhagen were unlucky and could have easily got much more from this game.

Maresca is afraid

Asked after the game in the post-match press conference whether he is afraid for the return leg back at Stamford Bridge next week, Maresca offered no reassurance:

“I’m always afraid, but now as I said, the focus is on Sunday’s game and then we have two or three days to prepare for another game and that will be another difficult game.”

This will give Chelsea fans little confidence going into some other crucial games coming up, starting with Leicester City in the league this Sunday.

Chelsea are chasing a Champions League spot and will need to keep this winning momentum going now.
