Simone Inzaghi refused to hide his frustration for Inter Milan’s gut-wrenching 2-2 home league draw against Bologna.

In his post-match conference via FCInterNews, Inzaghi addressed several burning topics, including the club’s activity in the transfer market.

Vincenzo Italiano’s side held Inter winless in Serie A for the first time since a 1-1 home stalemate against Napoli in November.

Denzel Dumfries and Lautaro Martinez scored for the home team, while Santiago Castro and Emil Holm netted for the visitors.

However, Luca Parietto’s questionable decision not to award a penalty to Inter in the second half cast a shadow on the match.

Marcus Thuram beat Bologna goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski to the ball, forcing a late contact in the box.

Yet, Pairetto waved play on despite Inter’s appeals.

“We are not happy at all, but I have nothing to reproach the players for, they played against a valuable opponent,” Inzaghi said.

“Bologna played a great game, they are a well-organized team. The players gave an excellent performance, but we will need to evaluate everything.

“We had many chances, including those of Thuram and Taremi.

“We could have done better on their goals, especially at 2-2, where we conceded a very simple goal.

“Aside from the first 15-20 minutes, where the approach wasn’t the usual one, I saw a great team.

“We created the conditions to score the third goal.”

“There is great respect, and there was some nervousness at the end.

“I was worried about possible suspensions due to protests in the final moments.

“Everyone can make mistakes, including us coaches and the referees, as happened today and in Riyadh.

“We have guidelines, we have active managers who monitor everything.

“We have players missing who don’t allow us to rotate fully, and we’ve signed both young and experienced players like Taremi.

“As for the referee, you all saw it. The only one who got booked was me, and I’ll miss the next game.”

Inzaghi confirms Inter are in the market for reinforcements amid a growing injury crisis at the San Siro.

“We always talk with the club, which is always attentive.

“Right now, we have some difficulties because we’ve had problems at the back recently, and in early January, in midfield.

“There are two injured players and Frattesi is dealing with a problem.

“I’ve only changed two players compared to Venice, while Bologna changed eight. Now we are trying to speed up the recovery process.”

Meanwhile, Mehdi Taremi replaced Lautaro Martinez midway through the second half and wasted two chances to make it 3-2.

However, Inzaghi refused to blame his striker for wasteful finishing.

“In my opinion, he came on very well, he created two chances that he could have finished better.

“But he helped the team, he played well in Venice and Riyadh. He is a willing player, he should go home with a clear conscience.”

As for Pavard, he made another cameo appearance after returning from injury.

Inzaghi admits the Frenchman could start against Empoli next Sunday.

“He has recovered well, he played two short spells, I need to assess whether to start him from the first minute against Empoli.”
