Beppe Marotta feels that Inter Milan have to fight for both the Champions League and the Serie A title this season.
The Nerazzurri President spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, ahead of today’s Serie A clash with Genoa.
Yesterday, Inter Milan learned who their opponents will be in the Champions League round of sixteen.
The Nerazzurri will face Dutch side Feyenoord in the first knockout round of the competition.
Then, the likes of Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, and Barcelona are among the teams on Inter’s side of the bracket.
Inter will feel that they have a real chance of reaching the final again, as they had done in 2023. And then they could even hope to do one better by actually lifting the trophy.
Meanwhile, in Serie A Inter have a tough title race on their hands.
Going into the start of this weekend, the Nerazzurri are two points behind Napoli. And then Atalanta are just a few points behind them.
Meanwhile, Inter Milan face league leaders the Partenopei next Saturday. That match certainly has the feel of a potential title-decider.
Inter President Beppe Marotta insisted that “When you represent a big club there a paths you have to follow.”
“This team can compete across all competitions,” the Nerazzurri President insisted.

“We’ll have to work to go as far as possible. Then if other teams are better we’ll doff our caps to them, and if we’re better we’ll be happy with that.”
Of balancing Serie A and the Champions League, Marotta sad that “We’re Inter, and we have to fight for everything.”
“Then, obviously the Champions League is a trophy this club hasn’t won for many years. And it’s a goal that we’d very much like to reach.”
“It’s difficult,” Marotta said. “But we can’t lose sight of the Scudetto.”
Meanwhile, Inter President Marotta said that Napoli coach Antonio Conte – who he’d previously brought to both Juventus and Inter – “is very experienced and competent.”
“He will be able to manage this moment,” Marotta predicted of Conte.
“The big difference between us and them is the number of matches that we have.”
“In twenty days we’ll have seven matches,” the Inter President noted. “They’ll have less.”
“Inzaghi will have to balance the performances. I think that’s the difference between us and Napoli.”
