We had the first Inter involvement in the break. Thursday saw five Nerazzurri take to the pitch in UEFA Nations League matches. They were Barella, Bastoni and Frattesi, who saw action for Italy, Marko Arnautovic with Austria and Hakan Calhanoglu with Türkiye. On the other hand, Yann Bisseck, after his first call-up with Germany, Pavard (France defeated Croatia) and Taremi (Iran victorious over the United Arab Emirates) did not get any minutes.
Italy were at San Siro with two Nerazzurri in the starting line-up for the first leg of their Nations League quarter-final: Alessandro Bastoni and Nicolò Barella. The Azzurri let a lead slip as they were beaten 2-1 by Germany. After Tonali's goal, Kleindienst and Goretzka gave the Germans the victory. Bastoni got the full 90 minutes, and Barella made way for teammate Frattesi in the 83rd. Bisseck was an unused sub for Germany. The second leg is in Dortmund on Sunday.
At Rams Park in Istanbul, Türkiyebeat Hungary 3-1 in the first leg of the Nations League play-offs. Hakan Calhanoglu starred as he played the full 90. The return leg of the match is scheduled for Sunday at 18:00
It was 90 minutes on the pitch for Marko Arnautovic, the star of the match between Austria and Serbia. The Nerazzurri striker served Gregoritsch the assist for the momentary 1-0 lead, with the visiting team finding the equaliser in the second half for the 1-1 final.
The two national teams will face each other again on Sunday at 18:00.
