Nicola Zalewski and Francesco Acerbi could start for Inter Milan in Monday evening’s Serie A clash with Fiorentina.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter need a massive reaction after their loss to Fiorentina on Thursday evening.

The Nerazzurri suffered their heaviest defeat of the season, playing away to a team that were missing a raft of senior players due to injury and other factors.

The defeat came as a big blow to Inter’s Serie A title defense. And it raised big questions about how the team is handling the pressure of multiple competitions.

There will certainly be at least a few changes to the Inter starting eleven on Monday.

And according to the Gazzetta, there are a couple notable names in particular.

Firstly, the newspaper predict, Nicola Zalewski could get the nod from the start.

The Polish international has already made an appearance for Inter. He came off the bench in the derby less than 24 hours after completing his loan move from Roma.

Zalewski had a memorable debut for Inter. He assisted Stefan de Vrij’s stoppage time equalzier.

However, the 23-year-old could go one better on Monday. The Gazzetta report that he’s a major candidate to start.

And in defense, it could be time for the long-awaited return of Francesco Acerbi.

Acerbi hasn’t played in nearly three months. His last appearance was in a Serie A match against Hellas Verona in mid-November.

But Acerbi has finally shaken off a thigh injury. Therefore, he could start against Fiorentina, giving Stefan de Vrij some much-needed rest.
