One player who Inter Milan certainly missed against Parma this weekend was Nicolo Barella.

The former Cagliari midfielder was absent, as he was serving a one-match ban due to accumulation of yellow cards.

And that certainly was a factor as Inter lost control of midfield in the second half.

Therefore, Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi will undoubtedly be breathing a big sigh of relief.

The 28-year-old will return to the Inter starting eleven for the first leg of a Champions League quarterfinal tie against Bayern Munich.

And Barella has had a rare full week in which to rest and prepare.

That means that the Italian international should theoretically be fresh. At least by the standards of this intensely busy period of the season.

Inzaghi will be hoping that the loss of Barella against Parma will be worth the extra intense version against Bayern.
