Crystal Palace fan favourite Jean-Philippe Mateta has come a long way during his spell with the Eagles since arriving from Mainz in January of 2021.

It took Mateta two seasons of struggling to come to grips with life in the English capital, but the Sevran-born goalscorer has come alive at Selhurst Park since the 2023-24 campaign, hitting 28 goals in 62 Premier League appearances.

That solid goal return has allowed the Frenchman ample opportunity to dispatch his celebration across the country, one he reflected on during a recent sit-down with Sky Sports.

Still sporting his bandage after his collision with Millwall goalkeeper Liam Roberts that required stitches and a trip to hospital, Mateta revealed the inspiration behind his celebration; Zlatan Ibrahimović.

And if his current form for Palace is anything to go on, he's doing the Swede proud.
