Juventus intend to add another center-back after Renato Veiga, and their search has taken them back to a dated target, Jean-Clair Todibo, whom they chased last summer. He eventually got tired of waiting for them to reach an agreement with Nice and joined West Ham instead.
According to Alfredo Pedullà, his entourage got in touch with Bianconeri since the center-back hasn’t adjusted well to Premier League football. He’d be happy to move to Turin given the previous interest.
Juventus tracked Tobido extensively in the previous window but couldn’t strike a deal with Les Aiglons. He eventually headed to West Ham on a temporary spell with a conditioned obligation to buy with better chances of staying put permanently.
It took him a while to become a regular starter, but then he lost minutes again due to a pair of minor physical problems. He has missed the last three matches due to injury. He has appeared 15 times so far, getting the nod on 8 occasions.
The Old Lady has stopped looking for new options after this turn of events. Their latest shortlist comprises Newcastle United’s Lloyd Kelly and Udinese’s Thomas Kristensen.
Even though he hasn’t had a great time in England, he’d be a proper replacement for Gleison Bremer. They bounced back nicely last summer with Pierre Kalulu, but missing out on him remained a fairly big regret. The deal isn’t easy to pull off technically speaking, as West Ham would have to buy him out early and then agree to ship him off or find a way to back out from the pact with Nice.
