Keane questions Arsenal mentality after Man United draw

Roy Keane has questioned the mentality of Arsenal after the club’s title dreams were damaged by a 1-1 draw at Manchester United.
Arsenal extended their winless run in the Premier League to three games after dropping points at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Declan Rice’s equaliser for Arsenal cancelled out a Bruno Fernandes opener for the home side, but it was otherwise an uninspiring attacking performance. United had the better chances to win the game with Arsenal grateful to David Raya’s shot-stopping after a string of saves.
The Gunners again struggled to create clear-cut chances in the absence of a recognised forward, with midfielder Mikel Merino again asked to deputise as an auxiliary striker.
Arsenal failed to sign a forward in the January transfer window, after season-ending injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz.
Keane believes the North Londoners lacked ‘cutting edge’ at Manchester United, failing to replicate the ‘swagger’ that saw Mikel Arteta’s side win 7-1 at PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday.
The former Manchester United captain also criticised the mentality of Arsenal, who failed to take control against a Red Devils team who have struggled this season.
“You’ve got to have cutting edge, cutting edge is very important,” Keane said to Sky Sports.
“Forget Liverpool, be more worried about the teams coming up behind you.
“They scored seven in the week, but they didn’t have any swagger about it today. United have been dreadful all season, I would be looking at Arsenal’s mentality. You must smell United were here for the taking.
“They weren’t streetwise. The next step is always the hardest one. If you’re playing for Arsenal what good is second to you?
“You are not winning any league titles with 10 draws. The manager [Mikel Arteta] certainly looks frustrated. He will still want his club to show a greater mentality.
“They’ve lost that momentum for the season. ”
