Kicker Report: Schäfer hopes to recruit Baku to Leipzig | OneFootball

Despite the fact that reports strongly suggest that RB Leipzig already have a preferred replacement for the injured Benjamin Henrichs in mind, RB sporting director Marcel Schäfer is reportedly considering bringing in his former player Ridle Baku in the current January transfer window. Baku remains available as a free agent this summer after the expiration of his current contract with VfL Wolfsburg. Such a status leaves the disaffected former German international free to negotiate with other clubs this month. Baku has earned a regular role under VfL trainer Ralph Hasenhüttl, meaning that the 26-year-old may wish to finish out the season with Germany's green company team.
