According to Het Nieuwsblad, Kortrijk are working on a deal to bring former goalkeeper Marko Ilic back to the club. The goalkeeper left the side a few seasons ago to join Colorado Rapids in the MLS, but he struggled to cement his place in the side. He has since moved to Red Star Belgrade where he has had to settle for being back-up. While the Belgian side did sign Patrik Gunnarsson in the summer but they have since moved away from him. Tom Vandenberghe was the sides number one but he has since left to join Gent during the transfer window.
The 26-year-old Serbian goalkeeper made 71 appearances for Kortrijk after joining the side in 2020 from Vozdovac. He impressed as a shot stopper during his time in Belgium but after injury lost his spot in the starting line up to the aforementioned Vandenberghe. Ilic only played 16 games for Colorado Rapids when he moved to the MLS. He also spent half a season on loan in Norway with Sarpsborg 08, where he played 15 times. This season Ilic has played 15 times for Red Star, including four times in the Champions League.
