Las Palmas manager praises Barcelona: ‘No team in the world has a plan to stop them’ | OneFootball

Barcelnoa’s next assignment in La Liga is against Las Palmas, a tricky side who got the better of the Catalans during their year-end slump in 2024.

Hansi Flick and co. have been flying this year and are back on top of the league standings after their win over Rayo Vallecano last weekend.

Heading into the game at the Canary Islands tomorrow, however, they have a score to settle and will look to extract all three points to retain the lead on the standings.

Las Palmas manager speaks

Speaking to the media ahead of his team’s weekend clash against Barcelona, Las Palmas manager Diego Martinez communicated how difficult it would be for his team to take all three points once again.

He began by describing his feelings ahead of the big game and what it meant to all the stakeholders of the club to face Barcelona.

“[It is] motivating and exciting for players, coaching staff and fans,” he noted.

The Las Palmas manager then spoke on the key to defeating Barcelona, and surprisingly stuck on the same lines as what he said before their meeting earlier this season.

“You have to be very accurate and [hope] that they do not have their day,” said Martinez.

Barcelona have had a stupendous 2025 so far and looks virtually unstoppable. When asked what the trick was to counter them, Martinez admitted that it was not an easy code to crack, saying:

“There is no team in the world that has a plan to stop them.”

Finally, the Las Palmas coach revealed the idea his men will look to implement on the night against a determined Barcelona, saying:

“[We must operate] as a team, especially at the level of concentration and details in the duels. We have to be very firm and create chances.”
