Both Lazio and Napoli are fighting for the signature of Empoli youngster Jacopo Fazzini, who will not be involved in his current club’s next match due to the ongoing transfer speculation.

Roberto D’Aversa confirmed during his pre-match press conference that Fazzini will not be called up to the matchday squad for Empoli’s upcoming Serie A match against Venezia, as he showed a ‘lack of conviction’ in training as a result of the ongoing transfer speculation.

Lazio and Napoli both targeting Empoli’s Fazzini

Reports on Friday confirm that both Lazio and Napoli are plotting moves to sign the Italy U21 star.

Lazio have reportedly had one approach turned down already. The Biancocelesti are reportedly attempting to negotiate a two-year loan deal with an obligation to buy.

According to Calciomercato.com, The initial proposal reportedly consisted of a €1m loan fee, plus a buy-out option of around €11m-€12m.

Empoli, meanwhile, are holding out for a fee closer to the €15m mark.

Napoli are also hoping to bring the 21-year-old to the Stadio Maradona this month. Antonio Conte’s side have not yet lodged a formal offer, as they intend to sell Michael Folorunsho first and then use the funds to reinvest in other targets according to reports from Il Corriere dello Sport.
